2003-2004 Need-Based Scholarship Timeline:

June 30, 2003 -- The application deadline.

July - August, 2003 -- NMF processing all received applications.

Late August, 2003 -- NMF informs ineligible and incomplete applicants to complete their file within two weeks.

September 5, 2003 -- Grace period ends. All incomplete materials must be received (not postmarked) at the NMF office. All incomplete and ineligible applications will not be reviewed by NMF.

Mid September, 2003 -- NMF requests financial aid information from the medical school for each eligible applicant.

October - November, 2003 -- NMF processes financial aid information provided by the medical school for each eligible applicant.

December 2003 - January 2004 -- NMF determines award decisions.

January - February, 2004 -- NMF informs medical schools' financial aid office of award decisions. The medical school's financial aid officer will notify applicants if awarded. Award recipients must return a signed contract, thank-you letter, and photos before receiving scholarship checks. All checks will be sent to the school's financial aid office.
